Basma Society for Culture and Arts signs a MOU with Baitona Association for Development and Community Development

Basma Society for Culture and Arts signed a MOU with the Baitona Association for Development and Community Development, to cooperate in implementing the activities of the project to enhance the effectiveness of extracurricular activities in north Gaza government schools through the Theater Club for children, which aims to enhance the effectiveness of extracurricular dramatic activities in north Gaza government schools through a theater club Gaza for children, being the Co - Applicant in implementing the project’s activities, with the aim of ensuring and enhancing the access of groups with disabilities to participate in the project’s activities. The project aims to integrate children with disabilities in the targeted schools. Basma is implementing this project in partnership with the Belgian Development Agency and funded by the Government of Belgium.
It is noteworthy that the project's activities are based on implementing a variety of activities inside and outside government schools in northern Gaza. These activities include training counselors and gifted creative arts teachers on the art of making and moving puppets and marionettes, in addition to integrating puppet theater into psychosocial interventions in schools. Drama methods for children are also used in the learning process. Government schools in northern Gaza will be provided with puppet theater equipment and tools, with the aim of establishing 16 kids' clubs, to improve the welfare and development of children in the border areas of northern Gaza.
