BASMA for Culture and Arts signs MoU with the Ministry of Education
Gaza, July 2023 - BASMA for Culture and Arts has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education in Gaza to collaborate on implementing a new project supported by the Belgian Development Agency - Enabel and funded by the Belgian government. The project aims to enhance the effectiveness of extracurricular drama activities in 16 government schools in Northern Gaza through the Gaza Kids Theatre Club.
The project focuses on conducting a variety of activities both inside and outside the schools. These activities include training counselors and talented teachers in creative arts, specifically in puppet manufacturing and manipulation. Additionally, puppet theater will be integrated into psychological and social interventions within the schools, and drama techniques for children will be utilized in the learning process. Government schools in Northern Gaza will be provided with puppet theater equipment and tools, with the aim of establishing 16 clubs for children, thereby improving the well-being and development of children in the Northern Gaza as it is a border area.
Finally, the project will work on including and gathering children with disabilities in the targeted schools in collaboration with the project partner, Baitona for Community Development.
